Descript vs Synthesia

Which should you choose?

Pick Descript if you're editing existing audio or video content—it excels at transcript-based editing, speaker identification, and polishing raw recordings with AI-generated narration. Pick Synthesia if you're creating videos from scratch for training, marketing, or internal comms at scale across multiple languages. Descript is built for content creators and podcasters who record first; Synthesia is built for businesses that need to produce dozens of professional videos fast without actors or studios. They solve different problems: Descript edits what you have, Synthesia generates what you need.
